Remember to refresh your screen often!

We're down to three! The Idols have some interesting song choices from the judges this week. Can't wait to hear David Cook rock out to Roberta Flack! And we're off! Marilu Henner in the crowd. Ryan calls it the closest race in Idol history. Randy boos Simon? What's up with that, Dawg? WOW, the contestents get to pick a song tonight! Syesha looks lovely draped in gold.

Starting off in Murray Utah with the mayor who has obviousy won a weird mustache-growing contest. David is singing the song Paula picked for him, "And So it Goes," by Billy Joel. Starts a capella, music finally builds. He sounds great! WOW - it's the best D'Arch has ever done, in my opinion. Randy says it was a "dope" song, says he's in the zone! Paula says it was beautiful. Simon says it was very good, a bit predictable, not really a critism, it was good. Not outstanding, good. His numbers are 866 IDOLS 01 04 07. Breaktime!

Syesha up next doing Alicia Keys, "If I Ain't Got You." Her star is really starting to shine. She's finally able to sing something she's comfortable with, and she sounds AWESOME! Very nice. Randy says she did an amazing job. Paula applauds her for doing the Alicia song and she looks great. Simon says he wished Randy had picked something that she wouldn't be forced to sound too much like the original, but it sounded good and he says she looks beautiful. 866 IDOLS 02 05 08

David Cook now. He seems a little stunned by Simon's choice "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face." Simon says he, unlike Randy, wanted to pick something that would be different. Simon says so many girls have said it was for him. Starts soft and gentle, very nice! Mom is standing. Tender...and here comes that rock voice....OMG...UNREAL!! He just rewrote this song!!!!!!!! WOW!!!! Randy is just getting back at Simon, saying he wished he could have rocked. Simon and Randy argue. Paula (for once) makes sense, and says it's about David. Simon says he might be a bit biased, but it was one of his best performances, and he's right. Simon says this is what makes him brilliant, because he can take any song and make it his own. Ryan asks who is in the lead, Simon says "Cook and Cowell." 866 IDOLS 03 06 09

Round 1 Sam and Craig both put Cook in the lead. Syesha and D'Arch are too close for Sam to call. Craig gives the edge to Syesha. They were all fabulous.

Round 2 starts with D'Arch singing "With You," by Chris Brown. Says he wanted to try something different. Hmm...not so great this time. Pitchy, and the boy can't dance. Getting it together a bit, but now we know why he leans on ballads. Too "Up with People," according to Craig. Randy agrees with us, it was a bad song choice. Paula says he should be singing songs like this. Simon applauds him for not doing a ballad, but he was like a chihuahua trying to be a tiger. It was a bit awkward with the dancing...it's not "you." Sorry, tweeners, Simon was right!

Syesha and her Tina Turner legs are next, she'll be singing "Fever," and she looks forward to having fun with a chair. Sits with her back turned, flips her head around to sing, shows off those gams. Hope she didn't just pull a Sharon Stone move there. She's strutting and flirting...oh, yeah, she's singing, too! Not bad. She's having fun. It sounds nice, but it'll never get radio airtime. Craig loves it! Randy says she sang it amazingly well, interesting song choice. Paula gives her fashion report, she's surprised she picked this song; it doesn't show who she is. Simon says she'll regret the song choice, because she had a chance to show she was a great contemporary artist and she did a song that was very caberet. Craig disagrees, Sam agrees.

David Cook's second song is Switchfoot, "Dare You to Move." Pitchy, dawg...come on...get it together. Chorus rocks, but still pitchy. Randy name drops, says it was pitchy. Paula says it was too hard to wind up that song before it was time to end it. Simon says it wasn't his best performance, all three of them had on OK middle round.

Final round - producers choice for D'Arch is "Longer" by Dan Fogelberg. Same old Arch ballad...smooth and predictable. Eyes closed, tweeners scream. ::YAWN:: Randy says it was an interesting choice, but he can sing the phone book. Paula says it was lovely. Simon says he sang the song very well, but the song and the lyrics were horrible...it was GOOEY. It was something for a 90-year-old, but it's enough to get him into the finals (without hearing the other two yet).

Syesha up now with "Hit me Up," by Gia Farrell from Happy Feet. She sounds great. Ouch, went a little screechy there for a moment. Take your heart pills Lester! She's strutting! Randy says it was just OK for him. Paula is lost in Happy Feet. Says she did the song very well, but it's not the type of song that defines her as an artist, and she's not sure it's good enough to get into the finals. Simon says it was better than her last song. Her best song was last week with the Sam Cooke song. This wasn't the best song to end it with tonight.

David Cook to end the show with "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing." Interesting Eleanor Rigby strings in the background. Starts off with some pitch issues. Gets it together and here we go rocking out! Pitchy, but it was still awesome! Randy says it was predictable. Paula says "see ya in the finals!" Simon says David Cook wins the night! David with a humble smile.

Sam and Craig agree - David Cook is the man. Even if he doesn't win, he's going to be a star. We actually liked the Roberta Flack song best! He has shown he's a star! It was nice to see the softer side, too, with a belated "Happy Mother's Day" wish to his mother in the crowd and all mothers. He does have a heart in there! Lots of people misread his attitude. All indications are, he's a nice guy.

OK, on that note, we'll wrap it up tonight, and we'll do it again tomorrow night for the results show! Speaking of which...is it time to say goodbye to Marissa on Dancing with the Stars? FLIP!

The twisters are north of Joplin, in the Pittsburg, KS area as of around 8:10 CT

The NWS says they expect more funnel clouds to drop in and out of this storm, so keep an eye out if you're in the area!
